My name is Ryan Martin. I started boxing at the age of 6 years old at Walcot ABC in Swindon. I had 36 bouts as an amateur, winning 32 of them. I won gold in the Golden Gloves National Championships in 2007, silver in 2008 and gold again in 2009. I won the NACYP's in 2010 and the Junior ABA's in 2011. I also represented England in the 3 nations twice winning a gold and silver medal. Towards the last stage of my amateur career I was selected to train for my place in the GB Squad in Sheffield. Out of the large number of fighters in my weight category from all over Britain, I was the youngest to be selected and made it to the last 4 in the programme. Following this, in 2014 I decided begin my journey as a professional fighter.
